Islamic finance in Brunei Darussalam is attributed to the concerted efforts of many stakeholders, including, Brunei Darussalam Central Bank, BDCB, relevant government agencies and the financial industry. As the financial regulator, BDCB has played a pivotal role in establishing the necessary framework to cultivate a thriving ecosystem for Islamic finance. The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy stated the matter at the 16th Islamic Financial Services Board, IFSB Summit 2024 at The Empire Brunei, 8th May afternoon. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah in his keynote said Brunei Darussalam's Islamic finance sector has been forging ahead with digitalisation initiatives, revolutionising traditional financial practices with cutting-edge technology tailored to Islamic principles.

 

Earlier, Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy for Economy stressed that the Summit serves as a platform for delegates to engage in high-level discussions on emerging issues and risks, and their implications on the resilience and stability of the Islamic financial industry. The Summit featured a line-up of renowned speakers and panellists from both the industry and financial regulatory authorities.
